In the time that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has stepped into office an estimated 20,000 people have been killed in his drug war, there have been 126 extrajudicial killings from July 2016 to December 2017 of which 87% were peasants, and the military airstrike in the Islamic City of Marawi left 1,000 Maranao-Muslims dead while continuing airstrikes on the whole island have driven 500,000 Moros, Lumad and peasants out of their villages for safety! What is happening in the Philippines?!?! On Monday, May 7, 6-8PM MALAYA South Bay, ICHRP, and Alum Rock United Methodist Church invite you to Stop the Killings: South Bay MALAYA Community Forum. We will be hearing first-hand accounts from peace and justice advocates and organizers from the Philippines. Join us to learn more about the human rights situation in the Philippines and take action.
